Tamur Rafting Expedition

Introduction

Tamur Rafting Expedition | Outdoor Himalayan Treks, Nepal

Tamur Rafting Expedition is a classic waterway adventure for about 120 kilometers, taking you on a roller coaster ride of more than 100 yet to be named rapids. Take a chance to be among the pioneer rafters to name and navigate them! There is lot more than a typical rafting trip in the Tamur—its steep canyon walls, its constricted channels between wild, looming cliffs, its mysterious, unending gorges, and its mighty rapids leading from one to the other add up to a magnificent adrenaline-filled experience of your life. You get a chance to unleash yourself at the extreme in its wild stretches and wildly spectacular campsites. As you erect your camp for the night, you won’t just share some drinks—you will have incredible stories to share with your teammates about what you experienced, what you came into, what you came over and how you felt all the time during the day!

The Tamur River, starting around Kanchenjunga, is Nepal’s sixth largest river. First navigated in 1990 and only a few following expeditions, its waters are still to be tested, still to be explored in detail. The river consists of rapids ranging from 3 to 4, a few even 5, except for in rainy seven. The put-in point of the trip is in Dovan of Taplejung district, the gem of the far eastern Nepal. It is approached by an exciting 5 day trek through pristine settlements and age-old wilderness of the district. More of the untouched river-fed wilderness awaits you during the six day tour through the journey that we halt at Chatara, which is also the put-out point of Sun Koshi Rafting Adventure.
