The tour starts from the Pahupatinath temple in Kathmandu, which is considered to be one of the holiest pilgrimages for the Hindus from all over the world. Then visit giant statue of sleeping Vishnu and you will move outside Kathmandu as far as Muktinath, the place that marries natural wonders with religious miracles. Then you will return to Pokhara, have the pleasure of sightseeing and pilgrimage, and wind up your journey returning to Kathmandu for international flight.

Itinerary Details

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
An Outdoor representative will welcome you at the Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer you to your hotel. Take a rest and unwind yourself. If you get time, we will take you to Kathmandu Durbar Square, where you will have the first hand experience of complexities of Hindu religion and mythologies. Just see the number of temples there dedicated to different gods and goddesses, and numerous statues of different deities!

Day 2: Visit Pashupatinath, Budhanilakantha, and Krishna Mandir
You get up in the morning and have your breakfast. Then our guide will take you to Pashupatinath, the holiest shrine of Hindus in Nepal dedicated to lord Shiva. According to legends, the cult of worship goes thousands of years back to the first settlements of Kathmandu valley. At that time a shepherd found his cow pouring her milk at a spot where the temple now stands. When he dug the place, he found a statue of Shiva and a temple was built at the place since then. After you visit this place, then you move on to the other major Hindu shrine in Kathmandu valley dedicated to Lord Vishnu. This place is called Budhanilakantha, where a giant statue of Lord Vishnu sleeping on the bed of Shesnagas (the holy snakes) is worshipped. Then have your lunch visit the other place of Kathmandu valley packed with temples. This is Lalitpur Durbar Square, where you will see a big temple built only of stones among other temples of other gods and goddesses.

Day 3: Visit Manakamana and Reach Pokhara
Manakamana temple, standing at a hilltop in Gorkha district, has very reach mythical history and people in large numbers visit it every day and ask for the blessings from Goddess Manakamana. To reach the temple we need to drive for about three hours and board a cable car from the river bank. It is an exciting 20 minutes ascent through the wires and finally you will reach this beautiful temple. Then we will return to the river bank through the cable car again and drive to Pokhara, which takes approximately three hours again. There are plenty of hotels along the highway from Kathmandu to Pokhara to have meals.

Day 4: Fly to Jomsom and Drive to Muktinath
Have you r breakfast in the morning. Then a scenic half an hour’s flight over the mountains of Nepal take you to Jomsom, a pleasant hill station in Nepal. Watch the sceneries, relax for some time. Then you will engage in a rollercoaster ride on a mountainous trail in a jeep. In about three hours, you will reach Muktinath where you will stay at a lodge.

Day 5: Visit Muktinath Temple and Drive to Kagbeni
Muktinath literally means the god of salvation. Do not forget to see the eternal natural flame in the Jwala Mai temple. Muktinath is a shrine of both Hindus and Buddhists. You can also see some monasteries here. Then we will drive to Jomsom via Kagbeni.

Day 6: Fly to Pokhara
Board a scenic flight back to Pokhara. Have breakfast and visit Talbarahi temple, so called because it is located in the middle of Phewa Lake (Tal). You will also visit the Mahadeva (Lord Shiva) at the Gupteswar cave, and see the Devis fall there. Then have lunch. You can spend your afternoon by boating in Phewa Lake, paragliding or going on other short day hikes in Pokhara.

Day 7: Watch sunrise from Sarangkot and return to Kathmandu
Sarangkot hilltop at the northeast of Pokhara is one of the best possible vantage points for sunrise views. It also offers magnificent views of Mt Annapurrna, Fishtail, Dhaulagiri, Lamjung, and Manaslu. It takes about half an hour to reach this place from your lakeside hotel. After watching sunrise, we will drive back to the airport, and board a flight to Kathmandu. You can spend the rest of your time in Kathmandu for buying souvenirs.

Day 8: International Departure
We will see you off at the international airport.


Fitness Level:
This trip requires you to be in good health and physically fit. So, we recommend thorough physical examination before you start the trek.


Your familiarity with the mountainous terrain will be desirable.
